About 8 Hour Games

We are a special interest group in the ACM student club here at Utah State. We get together once a month on a Saturday for eight hours, and try to make a complete game using XNA. While eight hours isn't enough time to make a game like Halo, we feel like we've proved that it is enough time to make a complete and fun game.

This special interest group is designed primarily for people who already have a decent understanding of XNA (see the XNA Special Interest Group for more information about learning XNA, and also these tutorials on learning XNA are nice).

However, if you do not know XNA, but you are still interested in joining us, come anyway! We'll find a way for you to contribute to the game, either by pairing you up with someone who knows what they're doing (pair programming), giving you a smaller piece of the game to work on, along with the right resources to learn how to do it quickly, or even with content creation or collection (creating 3D models, 2D sprites, finding good fonts, sound effects, background music, level creation).

All 8 Hour Games meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend. If you can't make it for the entire time, come for part of the time!
